The other employment conditions are in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for the Technical Installation Sector. This means you are entitled to 25 vacation days, 13 additional days off (ADV), and 8% holiday allowance. Additionally, the employer contributes half of your pension premium.
If you start in the position of (junior) Service engineer, you will initially receive a one-year contract. After this contract, Holland Ship Electric would like to offer you a permanent position. You will be provided with a company phone and service car, which you may also use for private purposes by mutual agreement. There will be a nice gift for you during Sinterklaas, and you will receive a generous Christmas package with all the trimmings. As an employee at Holland Ship Electric, you will not be left wanting!
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
What can you expect?
Your future workday
You get into your service car in the morning and drive to the first job on the schedule. One of the customers has a malfunction that needs to be resolved. You drive to the customer, and as you enter, the customer is already waiting for you. They want to depart as soon as possible, but the ship is experiencing a malfunction. Since you are familiar with this issue, it is easy for you to fix. You get to work and resolve the malfunction within an hour. You shake hands with the customer and let them know they can depart. The customer is happy, and you are happy! After that, you have a job with a new customer scheduled. Here, you will commission a new electrical installation. This will keep you busy for the rest of the day! You inform the customer about what you will be doing, creating a good expectation. The great thing about working as a (junior) Service engineer is that every day is different.
One day, you might be troubleshooting and doing some maintenance work. Another day, you might be commissioning a new electrical or instrumentation system! What more could you ask for? To give you a better idea, here’s a brief overview of all the tasks/responsibilities:
- You maintain, repair, inspect, and test electrical and/or instrumentation systems.
- You independently commission new systems, resolve malfunctions, and prepare commissioning and measurement reports.
- You engage in customer relationship management and provide advice when necessary.
- Every eight weeks, you are on-call for weekend emergency services.

Holland Ship Electric is een elektrotechnisch installatiebureau gespecialiseerd in de scheepvaart en de offshore. Jouw toekomstige werkdag
Je stapt ’s ochtends in je serviceauto en rijdt naar de klus die als eerste op de planning staat. Er is een storing bij één van de klanten die moet worden opgelost. Je rijdt naar de klant toe en als je binnenloopt, staat de klant je al op te wachten. Hij wil namelijk zo snel mogelijk vertrekken, maar het schip geeft een storing aan. En omdat jij deze storing al kent, is deze voor jou makkelijk op te lossen. Je gaat aan de slag en hebt na een uurtje de storing verholpen. Je geeft de klant een hand en vertelt dat hij kan vertrekken. Klant blij, jij blij! Daarna staat er een klus bij een nieuwe klant op de planning. Hier ga je een nieuwe elektrotechnische installatie in bedrijf stellen. Daar ben je de rest van de dag wel mee zoet! Je vertelt de klant wat je voor hem/haar gaat doen, dit schept een goede verwachting bij de klant.
Het leuke aan het werken als (junior) Servicemonteur Elektrotechniek is dat iedere dag anders is. De ene dag ben je bezig met het oplossen van storingen en doe je wat onderhoudswerkzaamheden. De andere dag stel je een nieuwe elektro- of instrumentatie technische installatie in bedrijf! Wat wil je nog meer? Om je een nog beter beeld te geven, hier even alle werkzaamheden/verantwoordelijkheden in het kort:
- Je onderhoudt, repareert, inspecteert en test elektro- en/of instrumentatie technische installaties;
- Je stelt nieuwe systemen zelfstandig in, verhelpt storingen en stelt inregel- en meetrapporten op;
- Je doet een stukje relatiebeheer met de klanten en adviseert ze waar nodig;
- Je draait elke acht weken een storingsdienst in het weekend.

Waar we naar op zoek zijn
- Je hebt een afgeronde MBO-4 opleiding in de richting van elektrotechniek/instrumentatie óf hebt relevante werkervaring in een soortgelijke functie;
- Je bent in het bezit van een rijbewijs B;
- Je bent flexibel ingesteld;
- Communicatief ben je sterk, je bent namelijk het visitekaartje van Holland Ship Electric;
- Het draaien van een storingsdienst (eens in de acht weken) is voor jou geen probleem.
